Kindergarten in Nature is an "immersion" type of experience where we partner your class with a natural area near your school. We have worked with 18 different Kitchener schools in this program so far, and we'd love to work with yours!
This 3-session program is intended to develop a deeper connection to the land than what can be experienced in a one-off field trip. Nature Connect educators mentor you and your class in fostering an ongoing relationship to nature. We commit to a limited number of schools per school year.
Cost:
Kitchener schools: no cost (limited spaces available, need to meet criteria)
Other schools: $300/session
Teachers! Are you looking for creative ways to engage your Kindergarten students in active, play-based outdoor learning? Experience the beauty of Huron Natural Area in the spring. This program is taught by leaders with a passion for outdoor experiential learning and experience in a forest school setting.
Each "Home Sweet Home" Kindergarten program will include:
We will explore animal habitats and our time will be shared between the natural playscape and the woods and waters of Huron Natural Area.
Because our funding is through the City of Kitchener, priority is given to Kitchener schools. More info is sent to school boards in March.
